Ready to go (electronic)?

Elections will be open April 15-29, 2026

Candidate Bio: Bonnie Jones

My name is Bonnie Jones and I am a full-time resident of Mill Creek. I have been married to the love of my life, Chip Jones, for 52 years. We have 2 sons, Craig (Tara) and Chris (Shannon) and 6 grandchildren. We bought our Villa in 2008. During that time, we were both working and going back and forth to NC on long weekends and Holiday. In 2014, we moved permanently to Franklin.

I am a native of Pensacola, Florida. I worked in the Supervisor of Elections office after I graduatd from High School and worked in the office for 33 years. During that time, my boss died in office, and I was appointed to fill the remainder of his seat. I was elected to the office for 10 years and only had one opponent during that time. I supervised a staff of 15-20 full time employees and over 1,000 employees on election day. I managed an annual budget of several million dollars (We did not have any hanging chads!). During my tenure in office, I served in several positions on the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections. I have also served on the Board of the Northwest Florida Ronald McDonald House. I was a member of McGuires' Irish Politicians Club.

After I retired in 2005, I was a realtor for Caldwell Banker Realtors for several years. I joined and served as President of the Carolina Mountain Ladies Golf Association.

I ask for your consideration to serve on the Board of Mill Creek Estates Property Owners Association.

Candidate Bio: Rick Crotts

My name is Rick Crotts and I am running for a position on the Mill Creek HOA board.

My wife, Kathy, and I moved to this community full-time in 2023. We had been part-time residents for about 3 years. During that time, we would spend about 75 percent of the week in Mill Creek and the rest in Atlanta.

I am asked, “Why do you want to join the board?” My answer is simple: We love Mill Creek. We want to help this community to thrive, plan for the future and continue to be a special place.

I retired in 2024 after spending 43 years as a journalist in Florida and Georgia. The last 28 years I was at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, retiring as the Senior Editor in charge of the newspaper. I managed a team of 12 editors, producing the newspaper for print and an online. At the same time, I was an Adjunct Professor for over 20 years, teaching design and journalism classes at the University of Georgia, Georgia State and Kennesaw State in Georgia.

My wife retired at the same time as an editor in January.

I have worked in a collaborative environment my entire career, which I’m convinced will benefit all of us.

We have three adult children (2 daughters and 1 son), a 3-year-old granddaughter, a 6-month-old grandson and two dogs.

Candidate Bio: Dave Berryhill

My name is David Berryhill. My wife Jan and I have been full time residents for 6 years. Mill Creek is a great place to live due to our interests in golfing and hiking.

My background is in the construction industry with experience in land development and residential development for 30 years.

My approach to solving problems is information and common sense. Again, Mill Creek is my home and I want the best for it.

Thank you for your consideration.

Candidate Bio: Terry Hood

My name is Terry Hood and I am a Board Certified Chaplain and educator with AdventHealth, where I serve as an Education Specialist and adjunct faculty member in the Clinical Pastoral Education Department. In my current part‑time remote role, I develop online continuing education curriculum for AdventHealth’s Mission and Ministry Department as well as mentor candidates preparing for professional board certification.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Divinity degree from Reformed Theological Seminary. In addition to my healthcare ministry, I am an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and have previously served as a pastor in both Florida and Connecticut.

Prior to entering ministry, I worked in the financial services industry as a First Vice President and Manager of the Retail Investment Banking Division for what is now Truist Bank. During that time, I was a Certified Financial Planner and licensed broker.

Through my diverse professional background, I hope to bring a broad perspective, strong communication skills, thoughtful leadership, and a deep commitment to service. I would be honored to serve on the Mill Creek Estates Property Owners Association Board as a way of giving back to the community that my husband and I are proud to call home.
